Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where your energetic and organized approach will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate patient appointments, and ensure smooth communication between patients and medical staff. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment while supporting efficient clinic operations. Applicant must work between two offices, North Dallas and Duncanville (50/50 in each office).

Duties

Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive first impression
Schedule patient appointments accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process insurance verifications efficiently
Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages when necessary
Handle medical documentation review, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 coding, and care plan documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Maintain organized medical records, update patient information, and file documents securely in EHR (Electronic Health Record) eClinicalWorks
Assist with medical billing processes, including collection of payments and follow-up on outstanding balances

Experience

Previous clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines is required for accurate documentation and billing
Demonstrated ability to handle insurance verification and medical collection processes effectively
Proven experience in front desk duties, appointment scheduling, patient intake procedures, and clerical support in a healthcare environment

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
