Overview

Join our compassionate team as a Funeral Home Receptionist, where your warm and professional demeanor will serve as the first point of contact for families during their most difficult moments. This vital role combines administrative excellence with heartfelt customer support, ensuring every visitor feels welcomed and cared for. Your organizational skills and friendly communication will help facilitate smooth operations and provide comfort to grieving families. We are committed to creating a respectful, supportive environment where your contributions truly make a difference.

Duties

Greet visitors with empathy and professionalism, providing a comforting presence at the front desk
Answer multi-line phone systems promptly, using proper phone etiquette to assist callers and direct inquiries
Manage appointment scheduling, calendar coordination, and follow-up communications with families and staff
Handle clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, proofreading documents, and maintaining accurate records
Utilize Microsoft Office tools for word processing, spreadsheets, and correspondence
Input and support basic bookkeeping tasks
Maintain organized files and ensure all documentation complies with company policies and legal requirements

Qualifications

Proven office management or administrative experience in a fast-paced environment
Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), and multi-line phone systems
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds
Bilingual abilities are highly valued to assist a broader range of families
Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry, proofreading, and filing tasks
Experience in front desk operations, phone reception, and clerical support is preferred
Ability to manage time efficiently while juggling multiple responsibilities in a sensitive setting
Personal assistant or office support experience that demonstrates reliability and professionalism is a plus
Must have a valid CA Driver's License and be insurable to drive a company vehicle
