Full Job Description

Immediate Start | 4-6 Month Contract | Approximately 20 Hours per Week- Pay up to $40/HR (DOE)

Beacon Hill Financial is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a part-time contract opportunity. This role offers flexibility within core standard business hours while supporting payroll operations for a multi-state workforce. The ideal candidate is a confident, self-directed payroll professional who can work independently and efficiently manage payroll deadlines.

Schedule & Details

Contract length: 4-6 months
Part-time: Approximately 20 hours per week
Flexible schedule within business hours (7:00 AM-6:00 PM)
Must be available to meet payroll processing deadlines
Immediate start available

Key Responsibilities

Process payroll using HRIS and payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, or similar platforms
Process bi-weekly payroll for non-exempt employees
Process semi-monthly payroll for exempt employees
Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule
Support payroll administration across multiple states
Assist with quarterly payroll tax filings and related reporting
Follow established payroll procedures and documentation
Collaborate with internal resources when questions arise
Maintain confidentiality and data accuracy throughout the payroll process

Qualifications

Previous payroll processing experience required
Experience with Workday, ADP, or similar payroll systems
Multi-state payroll experience required
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Self-starter with strong initiative and problem-solving skills
Confident in payroll knowledge and decision-making
Payroll tax filing experience preferred

Preferred Experience

Processing payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees
Multi-state payroll administration
Quarterly payroll tax reporting and compliance
Supporting remote employee populations
