Full Job Description

Senior Architect – .NET / Azure ModernizationRole Summary

We are seeking a senior, hands-on Architect to lead the modernization of a large, business-critical .NET/Azure platform—without disrupting ongoing operations.

This role is ideal for someone who can operate at multiple altitudes: deeply technical when needed (code, data, infrastructure) while also influencing senior stakeholders (CTO/CIO level). The primary mission is to evolve a tightly coupled monolithic system into a modular, scalable, and resilient architecture through pragmatic, incremental change—not a “big-bang” rewrite.

Key responsibilities:

Assess current architecture, dependencies, service boundaries, data flows, and operational bottlenecks.
Define practical modernization roadmap: what to stabilize now, what to decouple, what to defer.
Help identify bounded contexts and service boundaries across quote, rate, policy, claims, customer, notification, document, and product management capabilities.
Provide architecture guardrails for .NET, Azure, APIs, data access, integration, observability, security, and release readiness.
Partner with engineering leads, DB specialists, DevOps, QA, and product stakeholders.
Translate architecture decisions into business impact: speed, risk, scalability, compliance, cost, and operational resilience.
Review technical designs and prevent new technical debt during modernization. Must-have experience
10+ years in software engineering / architecture.
Strong .NET / C# / ASP.NET Core background.
Strong Azure architecture experience: App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Front Door, Redis, Storage, Service Bus / messaging, Application Insights, Key Vault, CI/CD.
Experience modernizing monoliths into modular platforms, services, or domain-aligned components.
Strong API, integration, security, observability, and production-readiness experience.
Ability to work directly with senior business and technology leadership.

Nice to have:

Insurance, insurtech, fintech, banking, or regulated industry background.
Experience with high-growth companies or platforms under scale pressure.
Experience with DDD, CQRS, event-driven architecture, or service decomposition.
Experience designing systems for pricing, underwriting, policy, claims, or customer lifecycle workflows.
