Alto Cirra is building autonomous atmospheric operations through advanced aerial systems, AI, and meteorological intelligence. We design, manufacture, operate, and maintain our own aircraft, requiring a disciplined operations team capable of delivering reliable, mission-ready platforms at scale.

Role Overview

The Operations & Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing all manufacturing and operational activities, ensuring every aircraft is built, tested, maintained, and mission-ready. This role leads the manufacturing team, manages post-flight refurbishment and repairs, and develops efficient production processes that support both R&D and commercial operations.

Responsibilities

Lead daily manufacturing and operational activities.
Supervise and develop manufacturing technicians and operators.
Manage aircraft assembly, integration, testing, and quality control.
Oversee post-flight inspections, maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment to return aircraft to mission-ready condition.
Establish and improve manufacturing workflows, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
Coordinate production schedules with flight operations and engineering teams.
Manage inventory, tooling, components, and supplier deliveries.
Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and documentation standards.
Identify process improvements to increase production efficiency and reduce turnaround time.
Track manufacturing KPIs, production output, defect rates, repair turnaround time, and aircraft availability.
Support prototype builds, design iterations, and scaling production as the company grows.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, aerospace, robotics, automotive, or a related industry.
Experience leading production teams or manufacturing personnel.
Strong understanding of production planning, quality systems, and continuous improvement.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
Hands-on mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), aerospace, or defense manufacturing.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with production scheduling, inventory management, and quality assurance.
Startup or high-growth manufacturing experience.

Success in the First 12 Months

Build and lead a high-performing manufacturing team.
Establish repeatable production and refurbishment processes.
Reduce aircraft turnaround time after missions.
Maintain high manufacturing quality and operational readiness.
Scale manufacturing operations to support commercial deployments.
