Front Desk Receptionist

Rochester, MI & Washington, MI
Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week | Monday–Friday

Join the Modern Dermatology Team

Modern Dermatology is seeking a friendly, organized, and patient-focused Front Desk Receptionist to join our growing practice. This full-time position supports both our Rochester and Washington office locations and plays a vital role in creating an exceptional patient experience from the moment patients walk through our doors.

We are looking for a professional team member who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, enjoys interacting with patients, and takes pride in providing outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to multitask while maintaining a welcoming and positive atmosphere.

Primary Responsibilities

Greet and welcome patients professionally in person and over the phone
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments using the EMR/EHR system
Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information
Collect co-pays, balances, and process patient payments
Assist patients with check-in, check-out, and digital intake forms
Communicate patient arrivals and scheduling updates to providers and clinical staff
Answer incoming calls and direct inquiries appropriately
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Assist with appointment reminders and recall efforts
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
Support administrative projects and office operations as needed
Deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring a positive patient experience

QualificationsEducation

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Experience

Minimum 1 year of medical office, receptionist, customer service, or administrative experience preferred
Dermatology or healthcare experience strongly preferred but not required

Skills & Attributes

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Professional and positive demeanor
Experience with EMR/EHR systems preferred
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to exceptional patient care

Schedule & Location

Monday–Friday
Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Must be able to travel between our Rochester and Washington office locations
