Lead Retail Sales Associate / Assistant Manager - Julien's & Mi Vida Boutiques

Julien's and Mi Vida are two vibrant boutiques located in the heart of Uvalde, TX at 200 & 212 N Getty St. We pride ourselves on offering unique, fashionable clothing, gifts, and accessories to our community, both in-store and online. Our team is passionate about fashion, customer service, and creating an unforgettable shopping experience for every customer who walks through our doors or engages with us online.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Retail Sales Associate / Assistant Manager to join our team at Julien's and Mi Vida. This role combines the duties of a top-performing sales associate with additional leadership responsibilities, including opening and closing the store, mentoring team members, and assisting with day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fashion, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to lead by example.

Key Responsibilities

Perform all duties of a Retail Sales Associate at an exemplary level, including providing outstanding customer service both in-store and online
Open and close the store, including cash handling, setting up displays, and ensuring the store is ready for business
Act as a key holder, responsibly managing store keys and alarm codes
Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and store sales goals
Train and mentor junior sales associates in customer service, product knowledge, and store procedures
Assist in creating staff schedules and managing team member hours
Ensure compliance with all store policies and procedures
Manage and resolve customer complaints effectively
Oversee visual merchandising and maintain store appearance to brand standards
Assist with inventory management, including receiving shipments and conducting regular stock counts
Engage with customers on social media platforms to promote our boutiques and provide excellent online customer service
Participate in and potentially lead live selling events
Collaborate with management on implementing marketing strategies and promotions
Provide feedback to management on team performance, customer trends, and areas for improvement

Qualifications

Proven experience in retail sales, preferably in fashion or accessories (2+ years)
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role preferred
Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate team members
Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, outgoing personality
In-depth knowledge of current fashion trends and styling techniques
Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with social media platforms and comfort interacting with customers online
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and climb ladders
High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in fashion merchandising or related field is a plus
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are highly valued

Work Schedule

Full-time position: Typically 40 hours per week
5 days per week, including weekends
Store hours: Monday - Saturday, some Sundays during holiday season
Occasional overtime may be required
Flexibility to accommodate special events and peak seasons
