Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration required; concentration in Accounting preferred.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Senior Accountant, preferably within a healthcare or hospital environment.

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and GAAP.
Knowledge of healthcare and hospital financial operations and organizational structures.
Ability to analyze financial information, identify issues, and make appropriate recommendations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to work effectively with department personnel and cross-functional teams.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for general ledger activities, financial reporting, financial analysis, and profitability reporting, along with other special projects as assigned. This position plays a key role in the monthly financial close process, including preparing financial statements and supporting schedules, analyzing expenses, completing account reconciliations, and supporting internal and external audits.

Key Responsibilities

Perform a variety of accounting transactions across multiple organizational entities.
Analyze and interpret financial data and communicate findings effectively to various stakeholders.
Prepare and post journal entries, including asset, liability, revenue, and expense transactions.
Prepare and reconcile accounts payable and payroll checks, including escheatment activities.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and ensure outstanding checks are properly cleared.
Record monthly investment and treasury-related activity.
Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and monthly rent schedules.
Maintain the financial reporting system, including the chart of accounts and financial report writer.
Partner with Accounts Payable on check disbursements and month-end close activities.
Prepare and review daily cash reports for organizational bank accounts.
Prepare financial statements and supporting reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash reports.
Execute and complete weekly accounts payable check runs.
Prepare year-end and interim audit workpapers and respond to audit requests.
Prepare wires for CFO approval.
Perform biweekly cash collection activities for designated cash collection locations.
Support the Sr. Director of Finance and Assistant Controller with special projects and financial assignments.
Ensure accounting transactions and financial records are accurate, complete, and properly supported.
Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures according to established deadlines.
Analyze expenses to ensure they are accurately recorded in the appropriate accounting period.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting professional with strong healthcare finance knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to manage general ledger, reconciliations, financial reporting, month-end close, and audit activities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $28.00 - $29.00 per hour
