Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Dietary Manager, where you will lead and oversee all aspects of food service operations within a healthcare or assisted living environment. Your role is vital in ensuring residents and patients receive nutritious, safe, and appealing meals that meet their dietary needs. As a Certified Dietary Manager, you will manage food production, supervise dietary staff, ensure compliance with health regulations, and contribute to the overall well-being of those we serve. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your leadership skills and passion for nutrition in a fast-paced, rewarding setting.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the dietary department, including supervising food service teams and ensuring high standards of food safety and quality.
Develop and implement menus that meet nutritional guidelines, patient care plans, and regulatory requirements.
Oversee food production processes, ensuring timely delivery of meals that adhere to portion control and presentation standards.
Conduct patient assessments related to nutrition needs, including managing special diets such as tube feeding or modified textures.
Ensure compliance with all health regulation policies, food service health codes, and safety procedures across the facility.
Manage budgets for the dietary department, including inventory control, purchasing, and cost analysis to optimize resources.
Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems for documenting care plans, dietary modifications, and patient progress.
Coordinate with healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans that incorporate nutritional strategies and interventions.
Monitor food safety management practices to prevent contamination or foodborne illnesses through proper handling and storage.
Provide health coaching to residents or patients on nutrition best practices to promote overall wellness.

Requirements

Valid certification as a Dietary Manager (such as CDM credential) from an accredited organization.
Proven experience in food service management within assisted living or healthcare settings; acute care experience is highly valued.
Strong knowledge of physiology, clinical nutrition, dietetics principles, and health regulation policies.
Demonstrated ability to manage food production operations while maintaining compliance with health codes.
Experience supervising dietary staff and managing food service teams effectively through leadership skills.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation related to care plans and nutritional assessments.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle budgeting, inventory management, and resource allocation efficiently.
Knowledge of specialized diets such as tube feeding or diagnostic evaluation procedures is preferred.
Ability to perform patient assessments accurately and develop appropriate nutritional interventions.
