We are looking for an experienced Lead Fireplace Installer to join our growing team and take a leadership role in delivering quality fireplace installations throughout Northwest Florida.
Position Summary
The Lead Fireplace Installer is responsible for leading and performing professional fireplace installations, ensuring that each project is completed safely, accurately, efficiently, and according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
The Lead Installer will oversee installation crews in the field, coordinate daily activities, inspect job sites, communicate with customers and contractors, troubleshoot installation issues, and ensure projects are completed to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and perform residential and commercial fireplace installations.
- Read and interpret installation manuals, plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Inspect job sites and identify potential installation challenges before and during projects.
- Verify that fireplace, venting, framing, clearances, hearths, and related components are installed correctly.
- Ensure all work complies with manufacturer requirements, applicable codes, and company safety standards.
- Lead, train, and mentor installation helpers and other crew members.
- Coordinate daily installation activities and ensure crews have the necessary tools, materials, and equipment.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders, contractors, and company management.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional appearance and attitude while on job sites.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and installation problems and determine appropriate solutions.
- Perform fireplace maintenance, repairs, adjustments, and warranty-related work as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation, photographs, measurements, and job-site information.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other equipment required for fireplace installation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Ensure company vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials are properly maintained and secured.
- Complete projects efficiently while maintaining a high level of workmanship.
- Travel to residential and commercial job sites throughout the service area.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in fireplace installation, hearth products, HVAC, construction, or a closely related trade preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of fireplace installation, venting, maintenance, and repair.
- Experience inspecting job sites and identifying potential installation or construction issues.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Previous experience leading a crew or supervising field personnel preferred.
- Ability to read and understand installation manuals, construction plans, and technical documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while also effectively leading a team.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver fireplace components, tools, equipment, and materials.
- Comfortable working on ladders, roofs, scaffolding, and elevated work areas when required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Fireplace, hearth, construction, HVAC, or related certifications are a plus.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel to job sites as required.
Physical Requirements
This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to:
- Lift and carry heavy materials and equipment.
- Work in confined spaces and unfinished construction environments.
- Climb ladders and work at heights.
- Work on roofs and elevated surfaces when required.
- Bend, kneel, crawl, reach, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Safely use hand tools and power tools.
