Job Summary
The Baking and Pastry Cook will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods and pastries with a focus on quality, presentation, and taste. This role requires a strong understanding of baking techniques, creativity, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-energy environment. An exceptional Baking and Pastry Cook will demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality products that align with our standards.
Duties and responsibilities include:

Prepare and Bake: Create a variety of pastries, breads, and desserts according to recipes and quality standards.

Ingredient Management: Maintain organized, stocked workstations, managing inventory and practicing proper food rotation.

Quality Control: Inspect products for taste, texture, and presentation; adapt recipes for special requests or seasonal ingredients.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to coordinate timing and ensure baked items are ready for service.

Maintain Cleanliness and Safety: Keep baking areas, equipment, and utensils clean and sanitized, adhering to food safety guidelines.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-year cooking experience required

Active Food Handlers certificate required

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations

Ability to work as part of a team and in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication and leadership skills

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods.

Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping to operate kitchen equipment and prepare ingredients.

Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds, including trays, boxes of ingredients, and baking equipment.

Manual dexterity required for shaping, mixing, and decorating pastries and baked goods.

Ability to work in a warm kitchen environment, with exposure to temperature variations and moderate noise levels.

Must be able to operate safely around hot ovens, sharp tools, and other kitchen equipment.
