Full Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Event Coordinator role responsible for planning, organizing, and executing events that ensure the highest quality of service and customer satisfaction. Your primary role is to support the Restaurant Manager and General Manager in coordinating events and proactive communication with customers and staff. This position requires a motivated, detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and communication skills. As a key part of our team, you will create memorable experiences for our guests and contribute to the success of our restaurant. This person should be comfortable developing relationships with community groups, sports leagues, and neighboring businesses. You have a passion for event planning and a commitment to providing exceptional hospitality. This role has an hourly base not including commission for events booked.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

Plan, organize, and execute events, including private parties, corporate functions, and special occasions.
Coordinate with clients to understand their needs and preferences.
Develop detailed event plans, timelines, and budgets.
Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure seamless event execution.
Oversee event setup, breakdown, and ensure cleanliness and organization.
Handle client inquiries and resolve any issues promptly.
Conduct regular meetings with staff to review event details and expectations.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, adhering to the dress code.
Maximize efforts towards productivity while retaining focus on hospitality and a positive guest experience.
Effectively handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues.
Maintain confidentiality of information.
Show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
Perform other related duties as requested by management and/or that support the team.
Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

1+ years of experience in event planning or coordination, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality industry.
Sales and marketing experience is preferred
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and solution-oriented mindset.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Proficient in budget management and financial reporting.
Knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
Commitment to providing exceptional guest service.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Proficiency with event planning software and systems.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to communicate effectively with management, guests, and staff.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for at least 8 hours in length.
Must be able to exert well-paced ability to remain organized and calm during high-volume shifts.
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, hearing, and visual accuracies.
Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment on the premises.

Regular attendance and prompt arrival to shifts are essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the restaurant. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
