Landscape Foreman – Design/Build & Irrigation

About the Position

Marvelous Gardens, Inc. is looking for an experienced Landscape Foreman to lead our landscape installation and irrigation projects.

THIS IS NOT A MOWING OR LAWN MAINTENANCE POSITION.

We are specifically looking for someone with hands-on experience in landscape construction, landscape installation, and irrigation who is capable of leading a crew and completing projects from start to finish.

This is a working foreman position. You will be expected to lead from the front, work alongside your crew, solve problems in the field, and take responsibility for the quality and productivity of your projects.

What You'll Be Doing

You will lead a landscape/design-build crew performing work such as:

Landscape installation and renovation
Reading and executing landscape plans/designs
Plant, tree, shrub, and groundcover installation
Bed preparation, grading, soil amendments, and drainage
Sod installation and site preparation
Hardscape and landscape construction projects
Irrigation installation, modifications, and repairs
Installing valves, heads, pipe, fittings, controllers, and related components
Diagnosing basic irrigation problems
Operating skid steers, mini skid steers, trenchers, and other landscape equipment
Loading materials and organizing jobs each morning
Directing and training crew members
Tracking materials and communicating job needs
Maintaining jobsite organization and cleanliness
Ensuring work matches the approved design and scope
Performing final quality-control inspections before leaving a project

What We're Looking For

Landscape installation experience is required.

The ideal candidate has experience as a Landscape Foreman, Crew Leader, Landscape Construction Foreman, Irrigation Foreman, or experienced Landscape Installer who is ready to lead a crew.

You should be able to walk onto a landscape installation project, understand what needs to happen, organize your crew, and get the job completed correctly and efficiently without needing someone to constantly supervise you.

Required Qualifications

Previous professional landscape installation/construction experience
Experience leading or directing a landscape crew
Working knowledge of irrigation systems
Ability to read measurements, plans, and job specifications
Knowledge of proper planting and installation practices
Experience operating landscape/construction equipment
Ability to troubleshoot problems in the field
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Reliable transportation to work
Ability to work outdoors in South Texas conditions
Ability to perform physical landscape/construction work
Dependable attendance and punctuality
Strong communication and leadership skills

Strongly Preferred

3+ years of landscape installation/construction experience
Previous foreman or crew-leader experience
Irrigation installation and troubleshooting experience
Experience with grading and drainage
Experience operating skid steers, mini skid steers, trenchers, and similar equipment
Knowledge of plants commonly used in South Texas landscapes
Texas irrigation license or other industry certifications

This Position Is NOT

❌ A mowing position
❌ An entry-level landscaping position
❌ A position for someone whose only experience is mowing, weed eating, edging, or blowing
❌ A supervisor position where you simply watch other people work

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone experienced in landscape installation/design-build work.
