Role:
Examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of member applications for lines or extension of lines of credit, real estate loans, home equity loans, consumer credit loans, or credit card accounts with special emphasis on cross-selling all loan and deposit product and services to meet the member's need by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
30% Interviews members in person or by telephone to assist them in preparing loan applications. Obtains personal and financial information. Answers questions and advises members of loan options, repayment schedules, interest rates, collateral requirements, and other loan details.
N 30% Gathers and organizes required supporting documents for loan closings. Verifies and examines documents for accuracy and completeness. Refers the loan to Loan Officer for review and approval.
N 10% Contacts members concerning acceptance or rejection of loan applications. Sets up appointments for loan closings.
N 10% Disburses loan funds. Files loan documents with appropriate agencies.
N 10% Identifies opportunities to cross-sell new or additional services or products to members.
N 5% Enters and maintains accurate loan information on computer operating system and prepares required reports for management.
N 5% Performs other job related duties as assigned
Performance Measurements:
1. Produce accurate and complete loan documentation and reports. Meet established deadlines for underwriting and closing.
2. Actively cross-sell products and services to members to achieve or exceed all established individual and departmental sales goals.
3. Ensure compliance with all applicable Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulations.
4. Provide informed, prompt, accurate service, and support to all members and associates. Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely and accurate manner, communicating the resolution to affected parties.
5. Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Credit Union loan products, policies, procedures, standards, and applicable state and federal government rules and regulations.
6. Maintain complete and well-organized files and records. Submit required reports by established deadlines.
7. Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills General office equipment such as calculators, computers, photocopiers, and scanners. Demonstrates carefulness about detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks. Working knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, and stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle and feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to read and comprehend a credit report and have the ability to analyze data collected.
Work Environment This job operates in a friendly and professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, scanners, filing, and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
