Caregiver (Dementia Care)

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Schedule

Monday – Friday
Approximately 4 Hours Per Day

Overview

Join our compassionate team at Just Peachy Home Care as a Caregiver/Companion providing one-on-one care for a client in the comfort of her home. This position is ideal for someone who is patient, dependable, and passionate about helping individuals maintain their independence while remaining safe at home.

The client has dementia, is a fall risk, and requires assistance with daily activities, safety monitoring, medication reminders, meal preparation, and companionship. As her confidence and comfort grow, the caregiver will also assist with accompanying and transporting her to an adult day center twice per week.

Duties

Provide companionship and emotional support
Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal setup
Provide medication reminders
Monitor for fall risks and provide mobility assistance
Assist with safe transfers and ambulation
Encourage engagement in meaningful activities and cognitive stimulation
Support clients with dementia using patience and person-centered care techniques
Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment
Accompany the client to appointments, errands, and eventually an adult day center as directed
Observe and report changes in the client's condition or behavior
Complete required documentation accurately and timely
Follow the client's individualized plan of care

Experience

Previous experience providing care in a home care, assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or memory care setting preferred
Experience working with individuals living with dementia or Alzheimer's disease strongly preferred
Knowledge of fall prevention and home safety practices
CPR and First Aid Certification preferred
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to safely assist with mobility and transfers
Strong communication, patience, compassion, and professionalism
Ability to work independently while following a care plan
Ability to pass a criminal background screening
