We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Director/Collaborating Physician to lead our HIV eradication initiatives within the US Virgin Islands and provide telehealth services. This pivotal role combines clinical expertise, medical leadership, and program management to advance our mission of eliminating HIV transmission. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in infectious disease treatment, healthcare management, and telemedicine, with a passion for innovative patient care and public health. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact through strategic oversight, clinical research, and collaborative efforts across healthcare settings.

Duties

Serve as Medical Director /Collaborating Physicians for APRN's and PA's providing HIV services across USVI ( St. Thomas, St Croix,St.John )+Florida telehealth expansion. Provide medical leadership and oversight with protocols for HIV eradication programs, Rapid HIV testing,counseling, Prep/nPEP ,Same day ART ensuring compliance with federal and local regulations including FDA, HIPAA, DEA, and NCQA standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and monitor clinical protocols aligned with best practices in HIV treatment and prevention.
Supervise clinical staff and oversee medical records management using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and Electronic Health Records (EHR) platforms.
Conduct patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care for individuals living with or at risk of HIV infection.
Lead clinical research initiatives related to HIV eradication strategies, including data collection, analysis, and reporting to support program development.
Manage telehealth operations by coordinating virtual consultations, ensuring seamless patient engagement while maintaining high standards of healthcare compliance.
Oversee healthcare quality improvement efforts by implementing utilization management strategies and adhering to NCQA standards.
Ensure all medical activities comply with HIPAA regulations and drug enforcement policies while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Provide teaching and mentorship to medical staff, residents, or students involved in HIV-related clinical development projects.
Participate in budget planning, resource allocation, and strategic planning to optimize program efficiency and sustainability.

Qualifications

Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution with post-residency experience in infectious diseases or primary care.
Valid medical license to practice in the US Virgin Islands,Florida or eligible for licensure there.
Proven experience in managing healthcare teams within hospital or outpatient settings with a focus on HIV/AIDS or infectious diseases. AAHIVM certificate preferred
Extensive knowledge of EMR/EHR systems, medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and clinical research methodologies.
Familiarity with FDA regulations, healthcare compliance standards (including HIPAA), drug enforcement policies (DEA), and managed care principles.
Demonstrated leadership in clinical development, academic teaching, or executive healthcare management roles.
Experience supervising staff members and overseeing practice management activities such as budgeting and quality assurance programs.
Knowledge of healthcare quality improvement processes including utilization management and NCQA standards adherence.
