Full Job Description

Glasser and Glasser, P.L.C., a well-respected law firm based in downtown Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking to add a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team!

This is a fast-paced work environment, deadline driven and requires great attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience in consumer debt collection or in a high-volume law firm.

1-2 years of high-volume collections experience required.

Duties

Manage and collect outstanding debts from clients, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
Conduct account analysis to identify overdue accounts and develop effective collection strategies.
Utilize financial software to track payments, maintain accurate records, and generate reports.
Communicate with clients via phone to negotiate payment plans and resolve disputes.
Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
Assist in improving collection processes and strategies to enhance overall efficiency.

Qualifications

Knowledge of debt collection laws to include the FDCPA.
Bilingual Spanish is a PLUS.
Proven experience in debt collection, particularly in medical billing or accounts receivable.
Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits, credits, and revenue cycle management.
Proficient in using financial software for account management and reporting purposes.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess accounts effectively.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Must be able to work one night per week from 9:00am to 6:00pm
Must be able to work one Friday per month from 8:30am to 5:30pm
