Location: Visalia, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time, Eval to hire
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour, DOE

A well-established roofing and construction company in the Visalia area is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong experience with QuickBooks and prevailing wage payroll.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
Process payroll, including prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting
Maintain accurate financial records and General Ledger transactions
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and vendor accounts
Prepare invoices, payment applications, and lien-related documentation as needed
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
Track job costs and support project accounting functions
Generate financial reports and assist management with budgeting and reporting
Ensure compliance with prevailing wage regulations and payroll requirements
Maintain organized accounting and employee payroll records

Qualifications

Minimum 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks
Experience processing prevailing wage payroll required
Construction, roofing, or contractor accounting experience highly preferred
Understanding of certified payroll reporting and job costing is a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential financial information with accuracy and discretion

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently while supporting a busy construction operation. They should be comfortable managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and maintaining accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
