Full Job Description

Potomac Energy Group (PEG) Consulting Engineering in Falls Church (Merrifield area), VA

Is looking for an enthusiastic motivated, reliable and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant /Bookkeeper to support our daily operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing administrative tasks with financial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities: Assist with the following:

Project Accounting: Enter, maintain, and reconcile data in Deltek Ajera, including project setup, phase tracking, and expense coding.
Billing & Invoicing: Assist with compiling, reviewing, and processing client invoices to ensure timely billing.
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Review and process vendor invoices.
Reconciliation: Reconcile bank and credit card statements, ensuring accuracy and proper audit trails.
Support: Serve as a departmental resource for Ajera-related questions, workflows, and dashboard reporting.

Additional Responsibilities

Provide general office support as needed
Prepare, organize, and process project specifications
Maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical)

Qualifications:

Software Skills: Hands-on experience with Deltek Ajera is strongly required; familiarity with Deltek is a plus.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or project-based bookkeeping.
Tech Savvy: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Soft Skills: Excellent organizational skills, sharp attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly,
