Accounting Assistant – Accounts Receivable Focus

Location:
Walden, NY
Employment Type:
Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm
Pay Rate:
$24.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support daily accounting operations with a primary focus on Accounts Receivable (AR). This role is ideal for an organized professional who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate records, and providing administrative support in a fast-paced office environment.
The Accounting Assistant will play a key role in supporting financial processes, customer communication, document management, and general office operations.

Accounting Assistant Responsibilities:

Support Accounts Receivable activities, including payment tracking and account maintenance
Process, organize, and maintain invoices and financial records
Enter and update accounting information accurately in company systems
Utilize QuickBooks to assist with daily accounting transactions
Create and maintain spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Excel
Answer and direct incoming calls while providing professional customer service
Maintain organized physical and electronic filing systems
Assist with administrative and clerical tasks for the accounting department
Support special projects and additional accounting duties as needed

Qualifications & Skills:

Previous experience as an Accounting Assistant, Accounts Receivable Clerk, Bookkeeper, or similar accounting support role preferred
Working knowledge of QuickBooks required
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to maintain confidential financial information
