Full Job Description

Overview

Join our kitchen crew as a Line Cook with Pond Hill Farm! In this energetic role, you will work as a team to prepare a variety of farm fresh foods including pizza, salad, sandwiches, and weekly specials with precision and creativity. You will help execute and produce menu items, prep line items, assemble mise en place, and maintain station cleanliness. You will be responsible for ensuring your station or work area is ready for service, as well as cleaning and restocking after close.

This is a great opportunity for someone interested in the culinary arts field, you will find yourself challenged, nurtured and educated through daily tasks while gaining experience in a high quality and fast paced kitchen setting. Help us provide excellent customer service and do your part to ensure guests enjoy all that Pond Hill Farm has to offer!

*Tip Pool Opportunity* Our Kitchen Team Members earn up to an additional $3/hr during peak times with our tip pool sharing policy.

Responsibilities

Execute daily opening tasks and checklists for designated station
Cook menu items as they are ordered, maintaining organization of tickets and remembering multiple items on order at once
Prepare menu items in a timely manner during high volume lunch/dinner service
Maintain awareness of station prep and backups, communicating when low
Ensure station preparedness via opening and mid-day station checks, communicating needed items to chef/sous chef
Maintain a clean work space by regularly cleaning and sanitizing surfaces and utensils, refreshing prep items and replacing pans
Complete closing check lists to ensure kitchens are shut down according to company standards.
Perform prep tasks as needed
Assist in events and special functions as needed

Experience

Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not required — we will train the right candidates!
Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends
Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment both independently and within a team
Ability to communicate and listen effectively, following instructions written and verbally
Ability to accept feedback and constructive criticism
Serviceable knife skills required
Serve Safe certified or willingness to become certified

Working Conditions:

Ability to stand for long periods of time and do physically demanding work required.
Willingness to work long hours and overtime when needed
Ability to bend and lift 50+ pounds
Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays is required, as well as having flexibility to work events outside of regularly scheduled times
