Your Role
Gensler’s Global Information Technology team, which sits at the heart of Gensler’s IT function, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced technical project manager (PM) to support strategic-level projects. The PM role will optimize the use of the Information Technology PM processes and tools to support IT Directors and globally distributed project stakeholders in driving project goals and timelines. This role supports project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting as needed for all Global Information Technology Projects. What You Will Do
- Manage issues, risks, and changes by putting plans into action and keeping programs on track by re-enforcing timelines, plans, and objectives. Emphasize functional leads and project team accountability.
- Define program controls, i.e., processes, procedures, and reporting to manage the global IT projects. Proactively apply processes, tools, and techniques to plan and organize projects. Guides teams through the project management of IT process stages.
- Develops project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders. Build and maintain current project plans, ensuring detailed Work Breakdown Structure(s), critical path(s), and project dependencies are clearly called out.
- Project Leadership. Provide leadership and guidance to internal and external core team members/stakeholders and Global and Regional IT Directors. Set and understand project goals and expectations that directly align with IT objectives.
- Provide proactive and effective communication (using various tools and mediums) throughout the entire project lifecycle to all IT functional leads and related project stakeholders. Team Building/Relationship Management. Foster a healthy team dynamic and collaboration among Global IT Directors and project teams.
- Manage meetings in an efficient and organized fashion, tracking action items and sending status reports. Applies sound judgment and uses data effectively to drive decision-making. Ensures project objectives align with strategic objectives and the business.
- Work cross-functionally with other business operations teams and throughout Gensler’s regions and offices to integrate and knit the firm together through our technology infrastructure. Examples include helping set up new offices and combining, launching, and sunsetting systems, to support our global growth, evolution towards new technologies, and optimization of platforms and tools.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree a plus, preferably in the fields of Computer Science, Information Management, Project Management, or Engineering.
- CAPM / PMP certification is a plus.
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience in IT with a proven depth of PM delivery experience, including software, project management, and major implementations on cross-functional projects.
- Strong understanding of different Program and Project Management principles and methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project Online, and other related PM tools.
- Proven ability to manage, coordinate, and ideate with teams in a highly relationship-oriented, networked global organization .
- Attention to detail and good communication skills are essential, specifically with managing milestones and setting expectations of roles and responsibilities of team members.
- Effectively lead cross-functional stakeholders and proactively surface and address issues - anticipate data, process, schedule, or technical-related problems and manage accordingly.
- Collaborate effectively with teammates inside and outside the Co-CEO Hub IT team in a global setting; time zone management is essential when scheduling meetings. Ask clarifying questions, identify new tasks and their owners, and drive to dates.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
- Proactive approach to organizing and planning project activities and keeping project members on task.
- Aptitude to leverage AI tools for next-level thinking with curiosity and a growth mindset to help drive complex projects.
- Agility to navigate grey areas to adapt and thrive in a nuanced decision-making culture.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving requirements.
**The compensation range is estimated to be between $125k-$150k plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
