POSITION SUMMARY
The Small Projects Foreman is responsible for leading the Small Projects & Service Department while performing hands-on roofing repairs and small project installations. This position coordinates daily dispatches, oversees technicians, communicates with customers, and ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Horch Roofing's quality standards. The Small Projects Foreman serves as the field leader for service calls, warranty work, emergency repairs, and small roofing projects from start to finish
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Small Projects Foreman leads the daily operations of the Small Projects & Service Department by coordinating work assignments, supervising technicians, performing roofing repairs, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, organization, and a commitment to safety and quality.
- Lead and supervise the Small Projects & Service team.
- Coordinate daily schedules, dispatches, and work assignments.
- Perform residential and commercial roofing repairs, maintenance, and small roofing projects.
- Diagnose roofing issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.
- Train, mentor, and develop technicians on proper roofing techniques and safety practices.
- Conduct daily jobsite safety meetings and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements.
- Inspect completed work for quality, workmanship, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate documentation including work orders, material usage, photographs, and project notes.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding project scope, progress, and recommendations.
- Coordinate material orders and ensure crews have the necessary tools and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels of service materials and maintain service vehicles.
- Respond to emergency service calls and prioritize urgent customer needs.
- Complete warranty repairs in accordance with company policies and manufacturer requirements.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager, Sales Team, and Office Staff to ensure efficient scheduling and project completion.
- Promote a positive team environment focused on safety, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Perform physically demanding roofing work including climbing ladders, working at heights, lifting materials, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assist other production crews during periods of high workload.
- Participate in company meetings and training programs.
- Assist in evaluating new equipment, tools, and repair methods.
- Support recruiting and onboarding of new technicians as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR POSITION
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of roofing experience with demonstrated proficiency in residential and commercial roofing systems.
- Previous leadership or crew supervision experience preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of roofing repair techniques including asphalt shingles, metal roofing, EPDM, and other low-slope roofing systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple service calls and changing schedules.
- Ability to effectively lead, train, and motivate employees.
- Proficient with mobile technology for documenting jobs, photos, and work orders.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions and at heights.
Licensing:
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Certifications:
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification preferred.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
