Full Job Description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Electrical Design Engineer in Sterling Heights, MI for a direct hire opportunity with our client. As a trusted partner in the construction industry, we connect top talent with top companies across the United States.

Job Type: Direct Placement
Pay: 115,000 to 150,000 Per Year BOE

Responsibilities:

Design and analyze electrical systems for the installation, interconnection, and control of architectural, electrical, and mechanical components.
Develop lighting and power distribution systems using applicable codes and industry standards.
Design low-voltage systems, including lighting control systems, power monitoring systems, and other building electrical infrastructure.
Perform equipment sizing and electrical load calculations for project design requirements.
Apply and ensure compliance with NFPA standards and other applicable electrical codes.
Produce detailed electrical layouts and construction drawings using AutoCAD with minimal supervision.
Coordinate design efforts with architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines to produce accurate and coordinated construction documents.
Conduct field measurements and site verification at project locations to support design accuracy.
Maintain organized project documentation, including calculations, correspondence, and reference materials.
Work closely with BIM teams, project managers, and field teams to support project execution.
Review project submittals and shop drawings to verify compliance with design intent and specifications.
Create, manage, and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) during the construction phase.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Required)
5+ years of electrical design experience within the electrical construction or consulting engineering industry
Prior consulting experience with an engineering firm
Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design and layout development
Strong understanding of NFPA standards and applicable electrical codes
Experience producing coordinated construction documents for commercial or industrial projects

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to talk or hear, stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard for prolonged periods
Regularly spend multiple hours using and looking at a computer screen.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
Light to moderate lifting may be required occasionally
May need to occasionally travel to job sites.

Pay Transparency
The anticipated salary range for this position is 115,000 to 150,000 Per Year, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
