Full Job Description

Versatex Building Products | Providence, RI / Cape Cod, MA Territory

Versatex Building Products, a leading manufacturer of premium cellular PVC trim and siding products, is seeking an energetic and results-driven Area Sales Manager to support our Providence, RI and Cape Cod, MA territory. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role focused on building relationships, generating demand, and driving sales growth through distributors, dealers, builders, architects, remodelers, and contractors.

This is an individual contributor sales role reporting directly to the Northeast Regional Sales Manager. If you enjoy developing business, influencing customers, and spending time in the field building strong partnerships, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As an Area Sales Manager, you will serve as the local market expert and primary Versatex representative within your territory.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage a target account list of dealers, architects, builders, remodelers, and contractors/installers.
Execute an aggressive field sales strategy to generate awareness, demand, and specification of Versatex products.
Conduct regular sales calls and jobsite visits with end users and channel partners.
Deliver product demonstrations and in-field training to contractors, builders, remodelers, and installers.
Build and strengthen relationships with dealer and distributor management teams and sales representatives.
Plan and execute dealer events, contractor training sessions, and customer engagement activities.
Create strategic distributor business plans and monitor performance against growth objectives.
Train dealer and distributor sales teams on Versatex products and applications.
Consult with distribution partners on marketing initiatives, promotions, and co-op programs.
Manage sales opportunities and leads through CRM systems and coordinate follow-up with dealer partners.
Support field merchandising efforts, including displays and product visibility programs.
Represent Versatex at local, regional, and national trade shows and industry events.
Assist with warranty claims and customer issue resolution by coordinating with Customer Service and Warranty teams.
Monitor market activity and provide insights regarding competitors, pricing, products, and channel changes.
Maintain accurate customer records, reporting, and territory activity in CRM and Outlook.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-10 years of successful outside sales experience.
Proven ability to build relationships and influence customer purchasing decisions.
Experience with consultative selling, account management, and negotiation.
Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
Self-motivated and able to manage priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver's license and the ability to travel extensively throughout the territory, including overnight travel as needed.
Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.

Preferred Experience

Building products, construction materials, siding, trim, roofing, decking, windows, doors, or related industry experience.
Experience working with distributors, dealers, contractors, architects, or specifying professionals.
Knowledge of residential construction and remodeling markets.

Compensation & Benefits: $70,000 - $90,000 base per year

Actual compensation will vary based on factors including geographic location, experience, education, skills, and overall qualifications.
