Full Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support accounting operations in a fast-paced distribution environment, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with U.S. GAAP. This role is instrumental in managing inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will utilize Epicor Eclipse (Solar) ERP to maintain financial data integrity, support reporting, and drive operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities
Support full month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts, including cycle counts, adjustments, and obsolescence reserves
Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS), gross margins, and inventory valuation
Assist in revenue recognition processes aligned with shipment/delivery and transfer of control
Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and perform variance analysis
Utilize Epicor Eclipse (Solar) ERP for general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and reporting functions
Support cash management activities and perform bank reconciliations
Assist with preparation and filing of 1099s and sales tax reconciliations
Support audits by preparing schedules and required documentation
Identify and implement process improvements within accounting procedures and ERP workflows
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate financial data

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
4–6 years of accounting experience, preferably within a distribution environment
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, inventory accounting, and cost accounting
Experience with Epicor Eclipse (Solar) ERP strongly preferred
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds

Work Environment

Professional office setting
Standard business hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
