DC HHA License Required - Home Health Aide - NE/SE Washington, DC

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per Hour
Location: Northeast (NE) & Southeast (SE) Washington, DC
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Flexible Availability Required Including Early Mornings, Evenings, and Weekends

DC HHA License Required

Please apply only if you hold an active District of Columbia Home Health Aide (HHA) License.

Candidates with an HHA certificate only, without an active DC HHA License, will not be considered.

Join a growing healthcare team dedicated to helping seniors remain safe, independent, and comfortable in their own homes throughout Northeast and Southeast Washington, DC.

We are seeking compassionate, dependable Home Health Aides who are comfortable working independently in participants' homes while providing personal care, companionship, and support with daily living activities. This position is ideal for caregivers who enjoy building relationships, making a difference, and helping older adults maintain their quality of life. The role involves assisting participants with activities of daily living, monitoring health status, documenting care, and supporting the overall care plan.

What You'll Do

As a Home Health Aide (HHA), you will provide total care and supportive services, including:

Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
Toileting and incontinence care
Meal preparation and feeding assistance
Light housekeeping and laundry
Changing bed linens
Grocery shopping and errands
Observing and reporting changes in participant condition
Monitoring vital signs, weight, appetite, and overall well-being
Documenting services provided in the electronic health record
Working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team

Travel Requirements

This is a field-based position requiring daily travel throughout:

Northeast Washington, DC
Southeast Washington, DC

Candidates must have:

A valid driver's license
Reliable transportation
Current automobile insurance
The ability and willingness to travel between participant homes during the workday

Home Environment Requirement

Our caregivers provide services inside participants' residences every day.

Applicants must be comfortable:

Entering residential homes
Working independently in participants' living environments
Providing hands-on personal care
Supporting elderly and frail participants with daily care needs

Schedule & Availability Requirements

Our HHAs are responsible for providing total care to our participants, which means scheduled hours may occur at any time throughout the day based on participant needs.

HHAs provide care across a variety of shifts, including:

Early Morning Shifts
Day Shifts
Evening Shifts
Weekend Shifts

Candidates must be flexible and available to work varying schedules to ensure participants receive the support they need when they need it.

Required Qualifications

Active DC Home Health Aide (HHA) License
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum one year of experience working with elderly, frail, or vulnerable populations preferred
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proficiency with basic technology and electronic documentation
Ability to pass required background and drug screening requirements [indeed.com]
