Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this pivotal role, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Your leadership will inspire our culinary staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences in a fast-paced, fine dining environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise, manage team performance, and contribute to the success of our hospitality establishment.

Duties

Assist the Executive Chef in supervising kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers, to ensure smooth operations
Oversee food preparation and production, maintaining consistency and quality across all menu items
Manage inventory control and food ordering processes to minimize waste and optimize costs
Implement and uphold food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations
Support menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
Lead shift management by coordinating kitchen activities, delegating tasks, and ensuring timely service delivery
Supervise catering events and banquet services, ensuring all dietary requirements are met with precision
Monitor kitchen cleanliness and organization to maintain a safe working environment
Train new team members on food handling, cooking techniques, and safety protocols
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless food service and guest satisfaction

Experience

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive culinary experience with a focus on fine dining cuisine
Strong background in food production, food safety procedures, and sanitation practices
Demonstrated ability to manage inventory control and food cost management effectively
Experience with banquet service, catering events, and large-scale food preparation is highly desirable
Leadership skills with a track record of managing teams in high-pressure settings
Knowledge of restaurant management systems and food service operations
Familiarity with dietary accommodations and special menu planning is a plus
Prior experience in hospitality or restaurant management environments preferred
Excellent communication skills coupled with a passion for culinary excellence
