Position Description:
CGI Federal is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to architect, integrate, and maintain enterprise and cloud-based systems in support of federal cybersecurity and mission needs. This role provides technical leadership across system design, cloud engineering, RMF compliance, automation, and systems integration. The position also requires strong expertise in Build Engineering and CI/CD pipeline development, ensuring secure, automated, and repeatable delivery of enterprise applications and services. US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance are required.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and enhance system architecture baselines for secure, scalable enterprise environments.
Integrate RMF principles into system design and deployment, ensuring alignment with federal cybersecurity and compliance standards.
Lead system, service, and API integration activities across cloud and on-premise environments.
Perform Build Engineering, including the creation, maintenance, and optimization of build systems, repositories, and automated deployment pipelines.
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting secure code integration, automated testing, artifact management, and deployment workflows.
Support ETL workflows, data transformations, data validation, and analytics solutions.
Troubleshoot complex system issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement long-term corrective actions.
Collaborate with cybersecurity, development, operations, and cloud engineering teams to ensure cohesive system design and operational readiness.
Support system modernization, cloud migrations, automation initiatives, and configuration management enhancements.
Create and maintain technical documentation, architectural artifacts, diagrams, and lifecycle management materials.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Bachelors degree in information systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 6+ years of experience engineering and deploying complex enterprise systems (LCAT requirement).
Demonstrated hands-on experience with Build Engineering, including build tools, artifact management, version control, and automation.
Strong experience designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
Solid understanding of RMF, secure system design, and enterprise cybersecurity practices.
Experience with system and API integration, cloud deployments, and automation frameworks.
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Experience with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), and cloud-native architectures.
Familiarity with ETL automation, data operations, or analytics platforms.
Certifications such as AWS/Azure Architect, Security+, or DevOps Engineer certifications.
