Leadership Development & Transformational Coach

Job Summary

Echo Five Group is seeking an experienced Leadership Development & Transformational Coach to support the US Department of War (DoW) leaders through executive coaching, leadership development, and organizational transformation initiatives. This position will partner with senior military officers, civilian executives, and leadership teams to strengthen strategic leadership, enhance organizational effectiveness, and support leaders operating in complex, high-performing environments.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience coaching senior leaders within the DoW, understands military culture and organizational dynamics, and is passionate about developing leaders capable of driving meaningful changes across the defense enterprise.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one executive coaching to senior military and civilian leaders.
Design and facilitate leadership development programs, workshops, and coaching engagements focused on strategic leadership, decision-making, resilience, and organizational effectiveness.
Help leaders align individual development goals with organizational priorities and mission objectives.
Support organizational transformation and change management initiatives by coaching leaders through periods of transition and organizational change.
Utilize leadership and behavioral assessment tools, including Hogan, EQ-i 2.0, and EQ 360, to inform coaching and development plans.
Foster leadership effectiveness by helping clients improve communication, collaboration, emotional intelligence, and team performance.
Provide confidential coaching support on leadership challenges, professional growth, and organizational issues.
Promote ethical leadership, sound judgment, and accountability in decision-making.
Maintain current knowledge of leadership development methodologies, coaching best practices, and emerging trends within the defense community.
Support client meetings, leadership events, and organizational development initiatives as required.

Requirements

Advanced degree in Organizational Development, Psychology, Leadership, Military Science, Human Resources, or a related field.
Professional coaching certification from a recognized organization (e.g., International Coaching Federation (ICF)) or equivalent executive coaching credentials.
Certified in, or able to obtain certification in, Hogan Assessments, EQ-i 2.0, and EQ 360.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in executive coaching, leadership development, organizational development, or senior military leadership.
Demonstrated experience coaching or advising senior military and civilian leaders within the Department of Defense.
Active U.S. Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance (required).
Must reside within the National Capital Region (Washington, DC, Maryland, or Northern Virginia) and be available for periodic in-person meetings, coaching sessions, workshops, and client engagements.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team structure as an independent 1099 contractor.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior military service, preferably at the field grade or senior officer level (O-5 or above).
Strong understanding of DoW/DoD organizations, military culture, and defense leadership challenges.
Experience supporting organizational transformation, culture change, or strategic planning initiatives.
Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
High emotional intelligence with the ability to establish trust and maintain strict confidentiality.
Experience working with senior executives in government, military, or national security organizations.
