Electrical Estimator
Location: DMV (Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Maryland) — In person

Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team supporting commercial and federal construction projects across the National Capital Region. In this role, you'll prepare complete, accurate cost estimates from initial solicitation through proposal submission — reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules, and bid documents, developing detailed takeoffs and pricing, and soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations.

The ideal candidate brings at least five years of electrical estimating experience in commercial and/or federal construction, and can independently develop estimates for projects of varying size and complexity. You'll work closely with company leadership, project management, and operations personnel, providing estimating support across our D.C., Virginia, and Maryland offices.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical construction, electrical estimating, or a related construction field
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple estimates and meet proposal deadlines
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and see assignments through to completion
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, project teams, and leadership
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
Comfortable performing site visits and working in active construction environments

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of supervisory or field leadership experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience estimating projects involving utility interconnections, distributed generation systems, microgrids, medium-voltage distribution, generators, switchgear, or electrical control systems
Journeyman or Master Electrician license
Experience with federal construction projects and government contracting

Skills & Competencies

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to evaluate project risks, identify cost drivers, and develop competitive pricing strategies
Self-motivated, with a drive to take initiative and improve processes
Professional, customer-focused approach when working with employees, management, clients, and partners
