Overview

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble a variety of dishes with precision, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards
Assist in menu planning by providing input on dish creation and ingredient selection
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all food handling and preparation processes
Support the kitchen team with food preparation tasks, including chopping, cooking, plating, and garnishing
Ensure proper food storage, rotation, and inventory management to minimize waste and maximize freshness
Serve meals efficiently and courteously to guests or customers, ensuring a positive dining experience
Demonstrate excellent knife skills and culinary techniques to enhance dish quality and presentation

Qualifications

Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
Proven background in food industry roles such as restaurant cook, catering assistant, or kitchen staff
Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and handling procedures
Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food presentation techniques
Skilled in cooking methods suitable for diverse cuisines and fine dining environments
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
