Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary operations and oversee daily kitchen activities. This pivotal role involves managing food preparation, ensuring food safety standards, supervising kitchen staff, and maintaining high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a comprehensive understanding of food industry best practices. As a Kitchen Manager, you will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, controlling inventory, and delivering exceptional dining experiences across various restaurant formats, including casual dining, quick service, and fine dining establishments.

Duties

Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality.
Manage inventory control processes to minimize waste and optimize stock levels using POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS.
Supervise kitchen staff through effective training, development, and performance management to foster a motivated and skilled team.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
Coordinate with front-of-house teams to deliver seamless customer service and uphold brand standards.
Implement shift management strategies to ensure smooth operations during busy periods while controlling costs.
Conduct staff interviews, onboarding, and ongoing training to build a competent culinary team.
Monitor food handling procedures to uphold safety standards and minimize risks of contamination.
Assist in budgeting efforts by controlling labor costs, food costs, and other operational expenses.
Lead food production initiatives for catering events or special functions such as banquets or hotel services.
Maintain accurate records of cash handling transactions and reconcile daily sales reports.

Skills

Extensive experience in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management within diverse restaurant settings.
Proficiency with POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and sales tracking.
Strong knowledge of inventory control practices, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
Proven leadership skills with experience supervising teams in fast-paced environments.
Ability to train staff effectively on culinary techniques, safety procedures, and customer service expectations.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Familiarity with budgeting processes, cost control measures, and food industry best practices.
Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with team members across departments.
Experience in managing restaurant operations within casual dining, fine dining, or quick service environments.
Knowledge of catering services, banquet operations, or hotel food service is advantageous.
