JOB OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a hardworking, motivated individual to join our team as a Driller’s Assistant. This is a field-focused role supporting our municipal and industrial well driller at job sites across Western Washington. While the majority of your time will be spent in the field, you’ll also help with routine equipment maintenance and yard support to keep our operation running smoothly.

Primary responsibilities include:
- Assist the lead driller with site setup, rig operation, pipe handling, and cleanup
- Operate and maintain pumps, tools, and heavy equipment
- Safely load/unload and transport materials, tools, and trailers
- Maintain job logs, daily field reports, and inspection checklists
- Follow all safety protocols and help ensure a clean, safe job site
- Perform routine maintenance on trucks, trailers, drilling rigs, and tools
- Organize the warehouse and yard; ensure tools and materials are clean, maintained, and ready for use
- Monitor inventory and order parts and supplies as needed
- Assist with truck/equipment prep and load-outs before field deployment
WORK SCHEDULE: No weekends. Start times and shift lengths vary - employees are dismissed when work is completed for the day, expect 8-10+ hours per day, 4-5 days per week.
Applicants must be willing to work overtime. Must be willing to work year-round in inclement weather conditions.
COMPENSATION: Starting base pay ranges from $30 - $35 per hour depending on experience. There is added compensation on prevailing wage jobs.

Career Advancement Opportunities
Assistant drillers can train to be licensed water well drillers, obtained by testing with the Department of Ecology, after sufficient hours have be worked as an assistant (proven with assistants daily logs), and sufficient continuing education courses.
This is a complicated and technical career path that requires significant amounts of knowledge, but the industry is s secure (everybody needs water), with significant demands and low numbers of licensed operators.
- Fully licensed drillers typically earn $45-$55/hour
- Lead technicians are provided with a company vehicle
WHO YOU ARE:
- Candidates with previous experience as a mechanic and/or machinist or warehouse management strongly encouraged to apply.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Washington Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A or B, with air brake/tanker endorsement, manual transmission
- DOT Medical Card for intra/interstate travel.
- Experience & ability to work in adverse conditions, including wet and muddy conditions. Work is conducted year-round, through most weather conditions.
- Can lift 50+ pounds safely throughout the day
- Experience with smart phones/computers for time keeping & record keeping
- Knowledge of and ability to use tape measures, shovels, rakes, digging bars, fuel transfer pumps, oxy-acetylene torches, hydraulic systems, diesel engines, gasoline engines, wrenches & hand tools, air tools, forklifts, rigging, and cranes/lifting equipment.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, as well as ongoing DOT drug and alcohol testing
