Tasting Room Wine Educator / Server

Part-Time | Saturdays + Sundays | Woodinville, WA

Sparkman Cellars is a family-owned winery founded in 2004 and located in the Old Redhook Brewery in Woodinville. Recognized by Wine & Spirits as a Top 100 Winery in the World, with multiple wines named to Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines in the World, we’re serious about making great wine—but never about taking ourselves too seriously.

We’re looking for an outgoing, dependable and hospitality-minded Wine Educator / Server to join our tasting room team.

At Sparkman, we offer elevated, seated wine experiences with the attentiveness you’d expect from a higher-end restaurant, delivered in a warm, welcoming and completely unpretentious way. We want every guest—from the seasoned collector to someone on their very first wine tasting—to feel comfortable, engaged and genuinely taken care of.

Prior winery, tasting room, restaurant or hospitality experience is a plus, but just as important is a natural ability to connect with people, a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in wine. We can teach you more about wine; hospitality and dependability need to come with you.

Schedule + Compensation

This position is primarily Saturday and Sunday. Applicants must be consistently available both weekend days.
Wine Educators will also be required to work two annual releases per year, and/or other winery related events.
Occasional additional shifts and evenings may be available if mutually agreeable.
Availability is required for our two annual Wine Club Release weekends, tentatively held in March and August.
$17.13/hour + tips averaging approximately $11–$13+ per hour

What You'll Do

Your primary responsibility is simple: create an exceptional and memorable experience for every guest who walks through our doors.

That includes:

Providing knowledgeable, attentive seated wine service
Suggestively sell wine clubs to potential new members of our wine family
Suggestively sell wine to guests to take home and enjoy in their home
Sharing the Sparkman story and educating guests about our wines
Building genuine relationships with guests and existing wine club members
Introducing the Wine Club to guests when it is a natural fit
Helping execute winery events, releases and promotions
Performing opening, closing and general tasting room side work
Restocking wine, glassware and supplies
Helping maintain a polished, welcoming tasting room
Supporting the Tasting Room Manager and broader Sparkman team as needed

What We're Looking For

You’ll thrive here if you are positive, personable, dependable and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You should enjoy talking with people, working as part of a team and continually expanding your wine knowledge.

This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs. Applicants must be 21 or older and obtain a valid Washington Class 12 MAST permit within 30 days of starting.
