Basketball Operations Coordinator

Utah Prep Academy | Hurricane, Utah

Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Housing: On-campus room and board available and subject to negotiation.

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. The position may be offered as either full-time or part-time, depending on the qualifications and availability. On-campus room and board may also be available as part of the overall compensation package and is subject to negotiation.

Utah Prep Academy is seeking an organized, motivated, and basketball-minded Basketball Operations Coordinator to join one of the nation's premier prep basketball programs. This position will serve as the administrative hub for all Utah Prep basketball operations and will work closely with the President, Head Basketball Coach, and coaching staff to coordinate the day-to-day operational needs of our rapidly growing basketball program. With multiple teams competing throughout the country, this role is critical in ensuring that our basketball operations are organized, efficient, and professionally managed while allowing our academic and student administration teams to remain focused on their primary responsibilities.

The Basketball Operations Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating team schedules, practices, games, tournaments, showcases, leagues, and local competitions while maintaining the master basketball calendar. The position will communicate regularly with opposing schools, coaches, tournament directors, showcase organizers, and event operators to coordinate scheduling and logistics. Responsibilities also include coordinating coaches' schedules, assisting with team travel arrangements, hotel accommodations, transportation, and itineraries, registering teams for tournaments and events, submitting rosters and required documentation, coordinating gym and facility schedules, assisting with home games, scrimmages, and special events, and providing general administrative support across all Utah Prep basketball programs.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience coordinating basketball programs, tournaments, athletic events, or sports operations and possess a strong understanding of how competitive basketball programs function. Coaching experience or practical experience working around basketball teams is highly preferred. Candidates should have excellent organizational and communication skills, the ability to successfully manage multiple teams, coaches, schedules, and events simultaneously, and be comfortable communicating professionally with coaches, schools, athletic directors, tournament operators, and other basketball contacts. Existing relationships within the basketball community are highly desirable, as this position requires someone who understands the basketball landscape and is confident building relationships and coordinating opportunities throughout the industry.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about basketball and enjoys organizing the many moving parts that contribute to a successful athletic program. This position is much more than a traditional administrative role—it requires someone who understands the pace, demands, and unique nature of competitive basketball and who can proactively solve problems, communicate effectively, and keep multiple programs operating efficiently.
