Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Bookkeeper to join our accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, managing various account functions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in bookkeeping, An associates or more in accounting, accounting software proficiency, and a strong understanding of financial concepts. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the accounting integrity of our organization through precise record-keeping and effective account management.

Responsibilities

Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment issuance, and account reconciliation.
Maintain and update financial software systems such as QuickBooks Online, Quickbooks tower, Xero, Sage, and other accounting platforms.
Conduct bank reconciliations regularly to verify account balances and identify discrepancies.
Process payroll accurately while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Prepare detailed financial reports, including statements and summaries for internal review and external audits.
Support governmental and non-profit accounting activities by adhering to specific standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Assist with budgeting processes and financial analysis to support organizational planning.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations through accurate tax preparation experience and documentation.
Perform 10-key typing tasks efficiently for data entry purposes.
Maintain thorough documentation of all transactions, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

Qualifications

Proven bookkeeping experience with a minimum of 3 years in diverse accounting environments including public accounting or corporate settings.
An associates in accounting or more is required.
Certification as a Bookkeeper or equivalent qualification from a recognized professional body.
Extensive knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks tower (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, and other financial management tools.
Strong understanding of accounting standards (GAAP), governmental accounting practices, and double-entry bookkeeping principles.
Experience with payroll processing, tax preparation, bank reconciliations, and account analysis.
Proficiency in spreadsheets and financial report writing for comprehensive data analysis.
Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
