Position Overview

The Payroll & Benefits Administrator position is located in-person at our Barre, VT location. This role ensures accurate weekly payroll processing, administers employee benefits programs, and supports a positive employee experience across the credit union. This role maintains precise HR records, ensures regulatory compliance, and serves as a key resource for staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Process payroll and maintain accurate employee data.
Administer health, insurance, and retirement benefit programs.
Ensure compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
Support onboarding and respond to employee payroll/benefits questions.
Coordinate payroll deductions, tax deposits, and contributions to benefit providers.
Maintain documentation and contribute to process improvements.
Participate in culture, engagement, and community initiatives.

Qualifications:

1+ years of payroll, HR, accounting or related experience
High school diploma required.
Familiarity with payroll/benefits systems and Microsoft Office.
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

Work Environment

Primarily computer‑based work; ability to lift up to 15 lbs. Some travel to other office locations required.
