PROJECT MANAGER – RESIDENTIAL REMODELING COMPANY
Remodeling Journey | Weston, WI
Full-Time | Mon–Fri, 7:30am–5pm
$50,000–$65,000 base salary + $30K+ bonus potential
Run the jobs. Grow with the company.
A role for someone who wants to run projects, not just build them. Lead the job, manage the subs, keep the client happy, and jump on the tools when it counts. We're a high-end residential remodeling company with our systems dialed in, and we're growing: we're currently in the process of opening a second location in Minocqua.
THIS AD IS FOR YOU IF...
You're good at this. You deserve a better setup than what you've got. There are two kinds of people we're looking for. See if either one sounds like your life right now.
THE OWNER WHO'S TIRED
You own the company, and it's eating you alive. You're the estimator, the foreman, the bookkeeper, the guy answering the phone at 8pm when a client can't find the paint color. The business runs because you run it, and the day you stop, it stops.
You love the craft. You dread the admin work. You're working 60+ hours and still watching the margin disappear into QuickBooks, insurance, marketing that doesn't work, and subs who no-show.
Come run projects instead of running a company. Keep the craftsmanship. Drop the chaos.
READY FOR THE NEXT STEP
You've earned the role. Your current company hasn't given it to you. You've been on the tools for years. You can read a plan, spot the problem before it costs money, and lead the job when the foreman isn't there. You're already doing half the PM work. You just don't have the title, the pay, or the say.
Or maybe the company is held together with duct tape. Schedules change daily. Budgets are fiction. You're taking the call about something you flagged three weeks ago. "We'll fix it," they say, and then don't.
Come lead real projects at a company with real systems. Grow into PM without giving up the work you love.
THE ROLE
You run the job. You lead the team. You step in when it matters.
This is a project management role. Not a clipboard job, not a carpentry job.
At Remodeling Journey, the Project Manager owns the production side of every project. You set the schedule, run the subs, stay ahead of materials, keep the client in the loop, and drive the job to the finish line.
When something needs to get done that day, you're comfortable getting in and handling it yourself. You came up on the tools. You haven't forgotten how to use them. But your days are built around leading the project, not producing all the labor.
You'll run real projects (kitchens, bathrooms, whole-home remodels, additions) for homeowners investing $50K to $500K+ to make their home work the way their life actually works. You'll manage 3 to 5 projects at a time, year-round. Design-remodel doesn't stop for winter. And you'll do it with a team that's already built the systems to support you: JobTread for scheduling and budgeting, daily photo updates, clear scopes, fixed prices, and a production manager who has your back.
What you'll own:
- Take projects from sales/design and set them up for production
- Schedule and manage subcontractors, vendors, and materials
- Step in on demo, framing, or finish work when the job needs it
- Keep projects on budget and on schedule
- Help grow and vet our subcontractor and trade partner base
- Daily photo and schedule updates in JobTread
- Walk the final punch with the client and sign off the scope
HOW WE OPERATE
Every company claims to have values. Ours are short because we expect to live them, and we hold each other to them.
1. Family First. Our families. Our clients' families. Our team's families. It's the whole point of the work.
2. Elevate and Innovate. Systems, designs, processes. We keep sharpening. If there's a better way, we find it. If you see one, we listen.
3. Act Decisively. We don't stall. We make the call, own the outcome, and keep the job moving. Indecision costs everyone.
4. Simple But Significant. Cut the chaos. Focus on what matters: quality, communication, and a clean, honest process.
