Position Summary: The Quality Control Technician will perform tasks to assure grade/quality that has been implemented by Blue Star Growers Inc. Quality Control Technicians will work closely with production and shipping to verify grade and quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead by example our Blue Star Vision, Mission, and Values.
Be kind and offer solutions
Identify quality and condition of all pear varieties
Inspect packed cartons from the packing line for grade/quality
Inspect packed cartons according to production guidelines of packing instructions and run order
Responsible for learning customer specifications and Blue Star standard grades
Conduct an assessment of cull – analysis and verification - online only
Q.C. assessment on Holdback fruit
Conduct Q.C. assessment on packed CA fruit
Input Q.C. data into Q.C. inspection tablet
Inform Q.C. Manager of any fruit grade/quality issues
Conduct Q.C. assessments during harvest
Other duties as assigned
Verify package types/plu’s Qualifications and Skills:
Pear grade and quality knowledge
Package type knowledge Education and Experience: Required
Knowledge of fruit grade, sizes, varieties, machinery, and supplies Preferred

Expected Hours of Work:
Core business hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 6:30 a.m. to 3:30pm. These workdays and hours may vary depending on shipping/production requirements. Overtime hours may be needed at times to accommodate production requirements.
