Full Job Description

Buyer Assistant – Part-Time

Pay: $20.95/hour
Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week, with additional hours as needed
Hours: Monday–Friday, preferably 7:00 AM–11:00 AM or 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
Location: Mason, Ohio

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Buyer Assistant to provide administrative and purchasing support within a manufacturing environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, comfortable working with data, and enjoys supporting a team.

The position will work approximately 20 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours when business needs arise. A consistent Monday–Friday morning schedule is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to the Buyer/Planner Manager and purchasing team
Assist with processing purchase orders and purchase order changes
Enter and maintain purchasing information within the ERP system
Enter purchase order acknowledgements and shipment tracking information
Assist with expediting parts and following up on outstanding orders
Communicate with suppliers and provide requested drawings or other information
Send supplier non-conformances and follow up as needed
Process return purchase orders
Maintain accurate shipment and purchasing records
Maintain Excel spreadsheets and electronic filing systems
Make copies, scan documents, and organize correspondence and other materials
Work with manufacturing and other internal departments to answer questions and provide information
Assist with confidential and time-sensitive information
Maintain organized files and records
Follow company policies and procedures
Perform other administrative and purchasing-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Associate degree in a related field OR 3–5 years of relevant experience; equivalent education, experience, or training will also be considered
Previous administrative, purchasing, or manufacturing experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good computer and data-entry skills
Ability to work independently while also supporting a team
Comfortable communicating with both internal departments and outside suppliers

Preferred Experience

Experience working with an ERP system
Familiarity with purchase orders and purchasing processes
Previous administrative support experience in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Familiarity with Google Workspace
