Full Job Description

Overview

Nelson Construction is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Project Manager who will play a pivotal role in supporting the successful execution of production residential new construction projects in Hartford County. Working closely with the project management team, you will assist in coordinating and managing aspects of the construction process, from planning and scheduling to budgeting and quality control, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities

Support the Project Manager in planning and executing multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking to help keep projects on time and within budget.
Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and field staff to support daily project operations.
Monitor project quality and ensure work meets company standards, plans, and specifications.
Maintain project documentation, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting records.
Foster strong communication and collaboration among project teams, clients, and trade partners.

Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, preferred.

2. Entry-level position, some experience in construction project management or related role preferred.

3. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.

5. Exposure to project management software and tools, such as BlueBeam, Fieldwire, DropBox, Procore, Smartsheet, Building Connected, Timberscan and Microsoft Office

6. Knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and best practices, with a focus on quality and efficiency.

7. Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.

8. Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and procedures on the jobsite
