Overview

SMR Consulting is an Interior and Design company known for designing and curating dream homes and bringing beautiful visions to life. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will manage a variety of accounting functions to ensure accurate financial record-keeping and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will help support our organization’s financial health, providing clarity through precise bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial reporting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing organization that values accuracy, efficiency, and integrity in financial management.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update the general ledger using QuickBooks Online.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and promptly.
Reconcile bank statements and perform balance sheet reconciliations regularly to ensure data integrity.
Prepare journal entries, including debits & credits, to reflect financial activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Conduct account analysis and general ledger accounting to support financial statement accuracy.
Assist with budgeting processes and prepare financial reports that provide insights into organizational performance.
Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and tax regulations for non-profit or corporate entities as applicable.

Experience

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role, demonstrating expertise in double entry bookkeeping and account reconciliation.
Hands-on experience with popular accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or Quicken.
Strong understanding of financial concepts including GAAP, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and account analysis.
Familiarity with payroll processing systems and tax experience related to payroll taxes and filings.
Knowledge of governmental accounting standards if working within non-profit or government sectors.
Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently for data entry tasks and maintain high accuracy levels.
Experience working with various accounting systems and software integrations to streamline financial workflows.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts while adhering to deadlines.
