Due to a recent promotion, the AIDS Task Force of the Upper Ohio Valley is seeking candidates for a Deputy Director position. The AIDS Task Force is a non-profit agency that is a leader in providing quality comprehensive services to HIV infected West Virginians. The AIDS Task Force, established in 1987, that provides direct services, including medical case management to West Virginians living with HIV/AIDS through the Ryan White Part B Program.
The ideal candidate will be computer savvy and a fast typist with a keen eye for detail. The position reports to the Executive Director. Understanding of data confidentiality principles is compulsory. The ATF will rely on this position for having accurate and updated data that are easily accessible through a digital database.
Responsibilities
- Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners
- Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes
- Verify data by comparing it to source documents
- Update existing data
- Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
- Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
- Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost
- Prepare checks for signatures
- Manage an office and handle occasional stress
Additional Duties:
* Answering the telephone for the agency
* Maintaining a confidential filing system
Skills
- Proven experience as data entry
- Fast typing skills; Knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
- Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)
- Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
- Basic understanding of databases
- Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
- Great attention to detail and an emphasis on documentation
- Neat handwriting for making out checks
- Ability to meet deadlines in a timely fashion
- Good management skills
The ideal candidate for this full- time salaried position will have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree. Candidates should be energetic, self-motivated, able to work as a team of service providers, have a caring attitude and possess excellent communication, organizational and inter personal skills.
