Caregiver Supervisor Nancy's Home Care
Location: 10146 S. Western Avenue, Chicago, IL
Position: Full-Time
Pay: $22.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
On-Call: Occasional Saturday phone support may be required to assist with urgent caregiver or client matters.
Benefits: Paid Time Off (PTO), Paid Sick LeavePosition SummaryNancy's Home Care is seeking an experienced, organized, and compassionate Caregiver Supervisor to oversee a large team of caregivers providing homemaker services throughout the Chicagoland area. This position is responsible for ensuring caregivers provide quality services while remaining compliant with the standards established by the Illinois Department on Aging (IDOA), Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), the Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS), and agency policies.The Caregiver Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for caregivers, providing leadership, coaching, problem-solving, and operational support to ensure clients receive safe, reliable, and person-centered care.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise and manage a large team of caregivers providing in-home homemaker services.
Maintain regular communication with caregivers through phone calls, text messages, email, and in-person meetings.
Monitor caregiver attendance, punctuality, performance, and professionalism.
Provide coaching, counseling, and performance improvement when necessary.
Conduct caregiver orientations, supervisory visits, competency reviews, and annual evaluations.
Ensure caregivers understand and follow each client's Plan of Care.
Monitor completion of ADLs, care notes, EVV documentation, and required client documentation.
Ensure compliance with Illinois Department on Aging standards, agency policies, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Investigate caregiver and client concerns and document findings accurately.
Work closely with the Scheduler, Intake Specialist, Recruiter, Field Coordinator, Billing Department, and Operations Team to resolve staffing and service issues.
Assist with caregiver retention through regular follow-up and employee engagement.
Coordinate corrective action, disciplinary documentation, and coaching as needed.
Review missed visits, scheduling concerns, documentation deficiencies, and client complaints.
Assist with emergency staffing situations and caregiver call-offs.
Participate in quality assurance activities and compliance audits.
Attend staff meetings and mandatory agency training.
Provide occasional weekend telephone support to assist with urgent operational needs.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably managing a large workforce.
Previous experience in home care, personal care, homemaker services, or healthcare required.
Strong understanding of Illinois Department on Aging (IDOA) Home Care Program requirements and compliance standards.
Knowledge of caregiver supervision, client service delivery, documentation, and quality assurance.
Excellent leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic home care software such as AxisCare or similar systems.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Human Services, Nursing, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Valid Illinois driver's license and reliable transportation preferred for supervisory visits.

Preferred Skills

Experience supervising 100 or more caregivers.
Knowledge of EVV systems and caregiver documentation requirements.
Experience with caregiver coaching, employee relations, and performance management.
Ability to remain calm while managing urgent staffing and client situations.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
Ability to travel locally for supervisory visits when necessary.
Ability to use a computer and telephone for extended periods.
