Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage day-to-day financial transactions, ensure accurate record-keeping, and support the organization’s financial health. Your expertise in accounting software and financial concepts will help maintain compliance with accounting standards and facilitate smooth financial operations. Duties

Record and process all financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other financial systems
Perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections
Prepare journal entries, general ledger entries, and double-entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records
Assist with payroll processing, including tax calculations and compliance with payroll regulations
Generate detailed financial reports, including budgets, financial statements, and audit documentation
Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and organizational accounting standards
Conduct account reconciliation activities regularly to verify data integrity across all accounts
Support tax preparation efforts by maintaining organized records of deductible expenses and other relevant documentation
Utilize spreadsheets for data analysis, budgeting, and reporting purposes

Experience

Proven bookkeeping experience with a strong understanding of accounting principles such as debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger management
Hands-on experience with popular accounting software including QuickBooks (especially QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, and other financial software tools
Familiarity with corporate accounting practices as well as non-profit accounting procedures is highly desirable
Knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulations, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis
Experience in public accounting or working within an organization that emphasizes compliance with GAAP standards is a plus
Strong proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or similar) for data management and report writing
Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently for data entry tasks
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform account reconciliation accurately and efficiently
Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
