Full Job Description

US Transport Inc., a regional leader in dry bulk transportation with locations in Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas, is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated, and analytical Accounting Manager to join our team. This position is based at our corporate office in Denver, Colorado.

This role requires a leader who can drive continuous improvement and provide effective supervisory oversight.

· Operational Excellence: Experienced manager able to provide high-level guidance and strategic direction across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury and Invoicing functions.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Accounts Payable & Treasury: Lead the Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely processing and reporting of checks, ACH payments, and wire transfers while managing key bank and treasury system activities.

· Accounts Receivable: Lead the Accounts Receivable and collections team to improve receivables turnover and reduce exposure to delinquent accounts.

· Invoicing: Supervise the Billing Specialist responsible for processing and auditing freight and shipping invoices. Ensure billing accuracy by reviewing shipping documents, including BOLs, applying contractual rates, and resolving discrepancies with carriers and clients to support timely payments and efficient logistics operations.

· Financial Reporting: Support the monthly financial close process, with an emphasis on reporting, analysis, and accuracy.

· Internal Controls: Help design, implement, and enforce internal controls and quality control procedures while driving process improvements across finance functions.

· Team Development & Oversight: Mentor and manage finance staff, lead training and development initiatives, and oversee performance reviews for assigned direct reports.

Additional Responsibilities: Partner with the Chief Financial Officer on special projects related to operational excellence, software implementations and customizations, and audit support documentation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.

Experience:

Minimum of 5-10+ years of progressive, relevant experience, with 3-5 years of supervisory experience.

· Experience with ERP systems is required; Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Business Central, or similar systems preferred.

· Transportation industry experience, including familiarity with Transportation Management Software such as TMW, is a plus.

This is a 100% in-office position – Not remote!!

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
