Full Job Description

Overview

Under the direction of the Program Manager/Program Supervisor, the After-School/Summer Camp Site Director will be responsible for maintaining the coordination, implementation, and administration of all enrichment/academic programs. The specific duties of the Site Director include program development and management, carrying forth prudent fiscal management, participation in staff development, and offsite collaborations. The Site Director will provide a safe, nurturing, and well-supervised program; be the liaison with parents, collaborators, school management, volunteers, and visitors. This position is responsible for planning and development of a creative learning environment and the establishment of interest centers, as well as the coordination of needed materials and supplies for program activities. In addition, the Site Director is responsible for collecting program data, providing contractual reports, and assisting with administrative support. A Site Director’s ability to establish authority through leadership, communication, and most importantly patience, is imperative to providing our participants the stability and nurturing atmosphere they need to succeed. The Site Director is directly responsible for creating a positive, fun atmosphere and increasing membership base.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Management:

Supervise, mentor, coach, and manage all staff, participants and volunteers.
Provide monthly goals to support staff, and facilitate professional development activities aligned with program objectives, policies, and procedures of the organization to encourage staff professional growth.
Provide performance management including timely performance evaluations.
Manage small and large groups of school age participants when necessary.
Efficiently manage provided program budget.
Comply and effectively implement processes as directed .
Maintain comprehensive records on participant and volunteer as required, and produce reports when requested.
Hold staff accountable to weekly and monthly planning expectations as established by the program and/or organization.
Enroll participants in accordance with DFOY and DYCD regulations.
Maintaining all necessary attendance and participant records as required.
Take initiative in researching, proposing, and implementing fun and educational program activities/opportunities.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Adhere to DFOY and school district on-site safety expectations, including but not limited to, implementing the site’s safety plan, and carrying out monthly fire/lockdown drills.
Accurately complete and submit timesheets/payroll records, incident reports, rosters, receipts, and all other DFOY program related records in accordance with established DFOY policy.
Attend leadership meetings, collaboration meetings, management meetings, and other meetings and training as required.
Demonstrate reliability such as arriving on-time for scheduled shift and completing supervisory responsibilities in a timely and thorough manner.
Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality pertaining to participants, staff, and management matters.
Advocate for healthy living; set a positive example in food selection, exercise and personal habits and attitudes.
Strive to maintain at least a 90% attendance rate of participants each month.
Submit weekly attendance reports.
Report all incidents/accidents to Program Supervisor within an hour of the incident.
Offer and participate in at least three parent engagement events/activities per year.
Support and comply with organization and site policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires a person who has the capacity to work in an environment where there may be many distractions and interruptions, and still accomplish their objectives as well as meet established deadlines.
Effective management of resources and equipment are integral components of the fluidity of the program’s success.
Staff supervision is a key requirement; the Site Director must be able to implement activities, while maintaining program safety.
Site Director is expected to abide by DFOY dress code at all times.

Skills/Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, and 2-3 years experience in developing and implementing enrichment programs.
Strong public speaking and writing skills
Experienced in curriculum Development
A team player with demonstrated commitment to working with inner-city youth and young adults
Experienced in word-processing, database computer software programs, and the Internet.
Bi-lingual (Spanish preferred) is a plus, but not required.
Possess excellent communication, supervisory, administrative, and fiscal management skills.
Has at least six months experience working with youth in a classroom, after school, or recreation environment.

Expectations:

The After-School/Summer Camp Site Director will function in an effective and efficient manner such as being proactive in all job functions. The Site Director will add to the culture of the organization and specifically work to allow the organization to reach its maximum potential. The Site Director will be the point person for tasks related to recruitment of youth participants, completion of youth participant applications, facilities and logistics (room and space accessibility including building permits and licenses).

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
