Night Shift Fabrication Shop Manager

Location: Haltom City, Texas

Shift: Night Shift (Monday – Thursday)

Type: Full-Time | Operations Leadership

About the Role

We don’t just build steel—we build things right. We are seeking a Night Shift Shop Manager who leads from the floor, not behind a desk. If you have the mechanical aptitude to diagnose a machine glitch on the fly, the fabrication skills to respect the craft, and the common sense to keep production moving safely when the unexpected happens, this is your shop.

As the night shift manager, you are the ultimate owner of the floor. You'll lead a skilled team of welders, machinists, and fabricators, ensuring our operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently while the day shift sleeps.

What You’ll Do

Drive Ownership & Accountability: Take full operational responsibility for safety, quality, and output on the night shift. Set high standards and hold the crew accountable to them.
Problem-Solve on the Fly: Bring practical common sense and deep mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot equipment, resolve job-site blueprint discrepancies, and streamline workflow.
Lead with Dedicated Grit: Show up every night ready to support your crew, maintain momentum, and bridge communication seamlessly between day and night operations.
Innovate & Improve: Bring a continuous-improvement mindset. Look at current floor layouts, cut lists, and fitting processes to spot smarter, faster, and safer ways to get the job done.
Master the Craft: Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor—guiding fabricators, verifying tolerances, and ensuring strict quality control before parts head to paint or shipping.

What We’re Looking For

Proven Fabrication Expertise: Solid, hands-on background in metal fabrication, structural steel, or heavy manufacturing. You know structural drawings, welding specs, and machine operations inside and out.
Strong Mechanical Aptitude: You understand how shop machinery works, how to prevent breakdown downtime, and how to fix floor bottlenecks.
Grounded Leadership: Prior experience leading or supervising a shop floor. You lead by example, communicate clearly, and stay calm under pressure.
Uncompromising Common Sense: Sound judgment when prioritizing safety, managing shift handovers, and making live shop-floor decisions.
Dedication to the Team: A proactive leader who takes pride in building a tight-knit, high-performing night crew.
