Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting various financial processes across the organization. Your expertise will help us uphold transparency, accuracy, and efficiency in our financial operations, contributing to the overall success of our company. This position offers an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about accounting and eager to make a meaningful impact through their work.

Duties

Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify account balances and identify discrepancies for prompt resolution.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing financial statements and reports in accordance with corporate accounting standards.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining strict data security protocols.
Utilize advanced Excel data analysis techniques to interpret financial data, identify trends, and prepare detailed reports for management review.
Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors during audits, ensuring compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and other regulatory standards.
Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Kronos, ADP, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
Participate in process improvements related to governmental accounting practices or specialized areas like public accounting or governmental reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP principles.
Familiarity with financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Kronos, ADP or Ceridian is highly desirable.
Strong technical accounting skills including journal entries, account analysis, account reconciliation, double entry bookkeeping and general ledger management.
Experience with SOX compliance processes and internal controls is a plus.
Excellent numeracy skills coupled with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—especially Excel—for data analysis and reporting purposes.
Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments and support customer service initiatives related to finance inquiries.
